About
Dr. Sawlani is a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of non-surgical orthopedic issues, caring for athletes and active individuals of all ages and levels. She is considered an expert in musculoskeletal ultrasound and has expertise in minimally invasive orthopedic procedures, including ultrasound-guided joint injections (knee, hip, shoulder, wrist, elbow, and ankle).
She completed her Sports Medicine fellowship training at UCLA, during which she served as team physician for Santa Monica High School, and assistant team physician for UCLA Athletics and the Los Angeles Lakers. Dr. Sawlani completed her residency training in Family Medicine at AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center, a community-based academic hospital in Chicago, where she was named Chief Resident and the national Family Medicine representative for the AMSSM's inaugural Sports Medicine Resident Council. She received her medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, NV, and her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Academy of Family Physicians.
Utilizing a holistic perspective, Dr. Sawlani partners with her patients to develop a personalized treatment plan and advocates for them to engage in active, healthy lifestyles. Dr. Sawlani sees patients in Santa Monica and Westwood.
