Dr. Kalay earned his Medical Degree at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. He joins us after completing residency at UC Davis San Joaquin General Hospital, following his Surgical Internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital. His medical interests are Preventive Care, Cosmetic Dermatology and Office Surgery. He is fluent in Hebrew and can speak Medical Spanish. He enjoys cinema, home renovation, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Kalay explained the cause of the pain in my right leg. Feels like sciatica but not. The pain is coming from the muscle. He recommended injection into the muscle like acupuncture. He said I should be able to find relief after the injection and with the anti-inflammatory meds and muscle relaxant.

As always, excellent care and customer service at UCLA Woodland Hills.I checked in online and was shown to a room almost immediately when I arrived. The offices are clean and welcoming, staff are friendly and professional. I was then seen by Dr Kalay just a few minutes later, he took the time to explain everything to me and was able to refer me to a specialist. All in all a great experience.

Seemed dismissive of my concerns. Kept looking at my boyfriend when talking and not me when I was the patient. I know I didn’t go in for something extreme or life threatening, but it’s unusual and concerning to me. I felt completely invalidated and like I was wasting his time.

The doctor barely asked me any questions and seemed skeptical of my concerns. He did put in the referral that I requested thankfully, but made me feel like I was being ridiculous. I could tell he wasn't fully listening because he misquoted some family history that I was trying to explain. When I spoke to a triage nurse before even scheduling this appointment, they were concerned and wanted me to see a doctor ASAP. This doctor started to brush me off before I insisted.

Dr. Kalay took my questions seriously. He seemed genuinely interested in me and gave complete, honest, no-BS answers about the ability of medication and western medicine generally to mitigate genetic risk. After he’d answered all my questions, he asked me about the mental health screening I did in the lobby and again he seemed genuinely interested in my wellbeing. He was matter of fact and whatever the opposite of “patronizing” is. Genuine, I suppose, to repeat myself.
