About
Qiuxue Tracey Tan, M.D. is board-certified in internal medicine. She is an assistant clinical professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, and she practices integrative medicine at UCLA East-West Medicine in Torrance and general internal medicine at UCLA Immediate Care in Santa Monica. In her practice at UCLA East-West Medicine, she commonly treats patients with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, POTS, chronic neck and back pain, shoulder pain, arthritis, migraines, functional GI disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, autoimmune conditions, cancer support, neuropathy, among others.
She received her undergraduate education at UCLA, during which she spent a summer in a hospital in China where she certified in a fundamental practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She wanted more international experience, therefore she then went to receive her medical degree from St. George’s University, during which she was elected and served as a board member in The Gold Humanism Honor Society. She was curious about how the human mind influences physical health. This led her to spend a month in silent meditation in a monastery in Nepal. During her journey, she learned the art of being fully present and has been practicing and teaching this ever since. She completed her internal medicine residency in Naples, Florida, a Blue Zone with one of the highest percentages of geriatric population in the country. There, she initiated a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program and helped lead the hospital’s wellness committee.
Dr. Tan’s professional interests include acupuncture, nutrition, educational curricula development, lifestyle medicine, functional disorders, and chronic pain. She has initiated and currently leads virtual shared medical visits for East-West Medicine patients at UCLA. She is also the co-director for the annual MED185 summer course for students at UCLA and abroad, and she gives lectures for community members both locally and abroad.
