About

Dr. Rajakumar is trained in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Originally from Lancaster, California, he attended UC San Diego, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and master’s degree in Biology. He then took his talents to South Beach, and received his medical degree at the University of Miami. He completed his medical training at Rush University in Chicago, before returning to LA to practice medical care for both adults and kids.

Dr. Rajakumar focuses on using the right tool for the job, which many times can be medicinal, but oftentimes that tool isn't always another pill or full body scans:

  • In this era of antibiotic resistance and medication addiction, not every runny nose needs a Z-pack, and not every sleepless night needs a sleeping pill. Yellow mucus is normal to have in the first 5-7 days of a cold, it doesn't mean you need antibiotics!
  • Xanax is a DEA-controlled medication to be used sparingly and in very specific circumstances, NOT for daily use.
  • Adderall, and many other ADHD medications, are DEA-controlled medications for people with a neurodevelopmental condition that prevents them from focusing and interferes with their daliy life (how many saucepans have you thrown away because you started cooking, got distracted, and then left the saucepan on the burner for hours?), not for people who are intermittently absent-minded or in the wrong career.
  • If your BMI is less than 27, the benefits of GLP-1 medications have not been shown to outweigh the risks. If your BMI is less than 24, then you should not be looking to lose weight with the aid of medication at all. There are people whose health relies on access to these medications but they remain unavailable because healthy people continue to unecessarily demand them.
  • “I think showing perfectly healthy people every harmless imperfection in their body just to scare them into taking invasive and often pointless tests is an unholy sin.” – Dr. Cox on full body scans. And I agree.

In his free time, he likes to play basketball, grill delicious food, and walk/bike/Metro through different neighborhoods of the city.

Very warm, concerned about my well being, willing to listen to all of my symptoms and seemed very knowledgeable. Also very comprehensive with his care methodology - started to put together a care team for me which was very much appreciated.
