The doctor was thorough, took the time to review my symptoms, and explained why a sleep study is the appropriate next step. I appreciated that he didn’t rush the appointment and answered my questions. My only criticism is that I left feeling somewhat discouraged. I was hoping to discuss the underlying cause of my breathing issues and what long-term treatment options might exist beyond CPAP if sleep apnea is confirmed. While I understand that a diagnosis needs to come first, I would have appreciated a conversation that acknowledged those concerns. Overall, the doctor seemed knowledgeable, but I was hoping to leave with more individualized insight and a greater sense that my specific situation had been explored beyond the standard explanation of the diagnostic process.
