Maria A. Han, MD, MS

Dr. Maria Han is the Chief Quality Officer for the UCLA Health Department of Medicine. She is also a primary care physician who practices in Westwood and an assistant clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Han is interested in population health and innovations in primary care delivery. Her work focuses on improving the delivery of preventive care and chronic disease management in practices across the Department of Medicine. Recent work has targeted cancer screening completion rates, vaccination rates, and outcomes in diabetes and chronic kidney disease. She serves on several UCLA Health committees to champion quality improvement and preventive care, including the Population Health Executive Management Committee, the Quality Measurement Improvement Committee, the UCLA Health Quality Council and the Primary Care Council.

Dr. Han received her medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She then earned her Master of Science degree and completed a research fellowship through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation at UCLA.

Prior to joining UCLA Health in her current role, Dr. Han spent three years as the Medical Director for Population Health and Home Care Services at the University of Michigan Health System. She earlier worked as an urgent care physician at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles.
