Margarita Maghtesyan, NP

Margarita Maghtesyan, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with UCLA Health behavioral health associates. She provides outpatient psychiatric care to adult and geriatric patients, with clinical expertise in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, psychopharmacologic management and the integration of psychotherapy modalities. Fluent in Armenian and Russian, Ms. Maghtesyan provides culturally sensitive care to diverse patient populations.

Ms. Maghtesyan earned her psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certification from the University of Cincinnati, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing, summa cum laude, at West Coast University. Her graduate research focused on the prevention of physical and cognitive decline in hospitalized patients with dementia. She began her nursing education at Glendale Community College.

Ms. Maghtesyan has practiced in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, long-term care facilities and outpatient settings. She works collaboratively with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, evidence-based mental health care.

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Ms. Maghtesyan is fluent in English, Armenian and Russian. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys yoga, swimming, music, traveling and spending time with her family.
