Dr. Loc Duong is board-certified in internal medicine and practices in Burbank. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and completed his residency focused in primary care at Highland Hospital in Oakland. Dr. Duong provides care for adults of all ages tailored to the specific needs of each patient. His clinical interests include the management of chronic diseases and preventative medicine. He enjoys learning about new advances in medicine, teaching medical students, reading, journaling, watching films, and practicing pottery.

Dr. Duong is always extremely thorough and diligent with each appointment. Today, we discussed and reviewed all of my issues and conditions. He addressed each one and made recommendations as needed. Dr. also performed a physical examination. I am very fortunate to have him as my primary doctor.

We talked about preparation for a partial nephrectomy surgery planned for the fall, and likely recovery time. We also discussed various things I might do to lower my LDL cholesterol without taking statins. Both discussions were extremely helpful—particularly learning that boosting my aerobic activity could help lower my cholesterol.

Dr. Duong is such a wonderful doctor that is so respectful and compassionate while listening to all my concerns. Him being on my medical team helps ease the anxiety while navigating all the medical appointments, meds, referrals, and symptoms. I’m so very grateful to him and his office.

Dr. Duong was able to see me and prescribe medication to help my symptoms however, his bedside manner was subpar. While I understand I presented quite ill and likely very contagious, he made it very apparent he did not want to examine me. His actions of barely using his finger tips to examine my abdomen (location of my pain), seemingly not wanting to touch his stethoscope after using it to examine me, makes me not want to see him again.
