Dr. Lillian Chen was born on the East Coast and moved to Taiwan at the age of 10. She returned to the U.S. after high school and graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and subsequently completed her residency training in internal medicine at UCLA. She currently provides comprehensive primary care ranging from preventive health care to the management of chronic medical conditions. She also serves as a Clinical Instructor at the David Geffen School of Medicine. In her free time she enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.

Dr. Chen always takes the time to listen to my concerns. She always orders appropriate testing as well as referrals when needed. She is my favorite physician because she never dismisses any concerns. Recently, I was diagnosed with an infection I am now treating thanks to Dr. Chen noticing the symptoms on her own without me mentioning them. She is an excellent doctor.

I was going to take a trip next week and needed to schedule. I had my appointment because I had a situation where I had persistent diarrhea that has been occurring for the last two weeks and it was going to impact my trip. I contacted Dr. Chen on my chart, and she replied immediately that she could see me on that day. Furthermore, she recommended that I pick up a stool sample kit. Her response was so surprisingly quick a shock what I needed. We had several interactions with my chart. She is very busy yet. She has time to adapt to changes in my life and she’s willing to take the time to interact with the MyChart system to make my visit very targeted and valuable.

I sent Dr Chen a message yesterday thru the health app requesting an appointment to check a sprained left knee. I was concerned I may have torn a meniscus as I had previously done for the right knee. I was offered an appointment for today. How quick! Some improvement is seen and a sprain is indeed suspected for which medication, cold and heat therapy are recommended.

My appointments with Dr Chen are always excellent, as was this one yesterday via video conference. She listened to my concerns and made referrals to the lab for tests that would get to the possible root of my problem. Early this morning she had already taken action on the lab results and notified me of next steps. Dr Chen is one of the best doctors I've ever had, and I'm 83 :). She's attentive, very professional, proactive, and very approachable. I marvel that if she thinks one of her patients has a serious immediate problem, she finds a way to fit them into her already busy schedule.

I am lucky to have the Doctor I have, she is very positive and I can ask her any questions about my health. I feel fortunate and feel like she keeps me on track with what I need to do to take care of my health. I fell on a walking trail the day before coming in , came down hard on my knees and scratch up my nose. She question me about one of my knees which was quite swollen and sugested I get an exray since the it pretty swollen. I had it done right after my exam. I felt lucky that I had the physical on the day after I fell. everyone in the office is alway s so kind.
