My experience with my providers was superb. My visit started out with a fellow. She was thorough and detailed with everything we covered. We started by going over my medication list in a detailed way. She showed me my X-Ray to explain how my recovery was going. I appreciate being shown a visual during explanations because it helps me better understand. She answered a lot of questions I had about when I could have dental work, potential medication changes, why I was feeling some discomfort using the spirometer, some soreness I was having, and we discussed the plan for my fluid restriction. She also made sure to keep a sterile environment by using hand sanitizer when appropriate. I appreciate her attention to detail pertaining to cleanliness. She also made sure to listen to my lungs and my heart only after asking if it was okay to do so. I know the doctors and health care professional need to do certain evaluations no matter what to provide the best possible care, but it was nice to be asked anyway. She examined my surgical site thoroughly. She then went to speak with Dr REARDON about everything we discussed. They both came back into the room and used hand sanitizer before the evaluation and discussion. Dr REARDON also made sure to introduce himself to my Dad who was with me at the appointment. Dr REARDON was very descriptive about why my fluid restriction parameters were likely going to change. He also used the X-Ray to explain why my diuretic dosage and potassium dosage would be changed. As well as explained the timeline of how long I would likely be on those medications. He used the X-Ray to give a detailed explanation of how my lungs were functioning. He did a thorough evaluation of listening to my heart and lungs. He also made sure to put me at a level on the chair so I was eye level with him. It made me comfortable to speak at eye level. He also evaluated my surgical site and the site where my chest tubes had been to look for signs of infection as well as evaluate how well my surgical site was healing. He explained endocarditis and the signs and symptoms I needed to look out for. He also gave me good tv show/movie recommendations. I liked seeing the personal side of my doctors here at this visit and when they would visit me in my hospital room. Doing this gave some normalcy to a situation that was and is quite stressful. Also I should mention that these recommendations did not harm the effectiveness or efficiency of the appointment. At this visit, I was treated extremely well. I felt comfortable and safe, valued and respected, and listened to and heard. Every component that UCLA Health expects to happen at their hospital.

I cannot recommend Dr. Reardon highly enough! From the moment the appointment started, it was clear that I was in excellent hands. He has incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly. Beyond their expertise, Dr. Reardon is remarkably polite, friendly, and courteous, making what can sometimes be a stressful visit feel completely comfortable.
