About
Lea Azour, MD, MBA, is the inaugural Chief of Professional Well-Being for the UCLA Department of Radiological Sciences and an Associate Professor of Radiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. As Chief, she leads departmental strategy to improve physician experience and strengthen the clinical work environment.
She earned her BA in Psychology from Yale University, her MD from New York Medical College, and her MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, with specializations in Leadership and Global Management. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology residency and Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Previously, Dr. Azour served as the Director of Wellbeing at UCLA Radiology and as the Director of Wellness and Associate Section Head of Thoracic Imaging at NYU Radiology. She chaired the Society of Thoracic Radiology Health and Wellness Committee and co-directed the 2023 and 2024 American Roentgen Ray Society National Wellness Summits.
Her scholarly work spans physician well-being, lung MRI, quantitative imaging, and artificial intelligence. In 2026, she was named the UCLA Department of Radiological Sciences Teacher of the Year for the Associate Professor rank.
