About

Dr. Lawrence B. Taw is a clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine and the director of the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine – Torrance. He is board certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine and is also certified in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Taw received his medical degree from UCLA. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center—an affiliate of Stanford University—and his fellowship in integrative medicine at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine. He received his bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences from the University of California, Riverside.

As director of the Integrative East-West Inflammation program, Dr. Taw is collaborating with UCLA's Division of Rheumatology to utilize an integrative medicine approach for patients with various inflammatory joint and connective tissue diseases. He has also partnered with the UCLA Center for Esophageal Disorders and the Division of Digestive Diseases to establish a unique program and optimize care for patients with functional gastrointestinal disorders.
