Dr. Khoa Nguyen is a board-certified dermatologist who practices at UCLA Health in Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica. He specializes in skin cancer detection and treatment, acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and dermatologic surgery. His research is primarily in the fields of psoriasis and complex medical dermatology patients.
Dr. Nguyen received his medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, where he was one of the recipients of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his dermatology residency at Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of California, San Diego where he graduated Cum Laude.
At the forefront of dermatology innovation, Dr. Nguyen’s research has significantly advanced the understanding of skin health and treatment. His involvement in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis clinical trials have directly contributed to improving patient outcomes by identifying more effective, targeted treatments. These studies have enabled the development of personalized therapies that enhance both the quality of life and overall skin health for individuals. Dr. Nguyen has multiple studies published in major dermatology journals including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Journal of Dermatological Treatment. With a commitment to improving outcomes and enhancing patient satisfaction, Dr. Nguyen’s work is not only shaping the future of dermatology but also providing impactful solutions that support long-term skin health to address the unique needs of his patients.
Dr. Nguyen grew up in Orange County, California. When he’s not working, he enjoys HIIT exercise classes, watching the Lakers, and playing with his Maltese dog Adonis.
