About

Dr. Kelly McCann is a hematologist oncologist who practices in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. She is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Her clinical interests include breast cancer, gynecologic malignancies and palliative care.

Dr. McCann is also a scientific researcher, who is a member of Dr. Dennis Slamon’s Translational Oncology Research Laboratory. Her basic science research is focused on the genetic and molecular biology of cancer, with the goal of developing new targeted anti-cancer therapies.

Dr. McCann received both her medical degree and her PhD in cancer biology from Stanford University as part of their Medical Scientist Training Program. She completed her internal medicine residency at Oregon Health and Science University, and her fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCLA, after which she joined the faculty in the Breast Cancer Research Group. She earned her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Rice University in Houston.

Dr. McCann is very professional. She is friendly, compassionate and very dedicated to her patients. Dr. McCann shows empathy and makes me feel important and valued. I never feel rushed and my concerns are always addressed. Furthermore, my questions are always answered. I always leave feeling good about my appointment with her. It’s always a pleasure interacting with her and look forward to future appointments.

Dr. McCann is always an amazing doctor! My appointment today was especially important since I have recently had test results indicating a new metastatic growth. Dr. McCann had prepared a new treatment plan for me and she patiently explained what additional new tests she wanted to do and which new medications she would prescribe for me based on that additional information. She created a drawing which explained where the different medications would be active in controlling the cancer cells. That was helpful in me understanding the process. And Dr. McCann's positive attitude is so very important to me in maintaining my outlook. I'm so lucky that she is my oncologist!

Always a pleasure to come to this office for my appointments. Dr. McCann is so professional and knowledgeable. She’s a joy to talk with and she makes me feel cared for and SAFE. Her staff are always friendly and professional as well.
