About
Dr. Chew is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the UCLA Division of Infectious Diseases and Center for Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE). She is an infectious diseases clinician with expertise in the management of HIV, viral hepatitis, and SARS-CoV-2. As a physician-scientist, her research focuses on clinical trials of antivirals and interventions to boost immune responses for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, particularly HIV, hepatitis C, and SARS-CoV-2.
She serves as Director of the UCLA-CDU Center for AIDS Research Clinical Science Core and Clinical Research Site Leader for the UCLA CARE Center site of the UCLA AIDS Prevention and Treatment Clinical Trials Unit.
She earned a BA and MD through the Program in Liberal Medical Education at Brown University, completed clinical training in internal medicine at University of California, San Francisco, and clinical and research training in infectious diseases at University of California, Los Angeles, where she also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research. She enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and otherwise enjoying the great weather in Los Angeles.
