About
Dr. Juan M. Alcantar grew up in Oxnard. He attended the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed an internal medicine residency at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. His medical oncology and hematology fellowship was completed at Harbor-UCLA and City of Hope Medical Centers. Prior to completing his fellowship, Dr. Alcantar practiced ambulatory and hospital medicine in Sherman Oaks, California. He was in private practice in hematology/oncology from 2011-2015. Dr. Alcantar is board-certified in internal medicine as well as hematology and oncology. He regularly participates in multi-disciplinary tumor boards to provide optimal and up-to-date treatments for his patients. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care with quality and compassion to his patients. Dr. Alcantar enjoys his spare time with his wife and two sons. He also enjoys soccer and reading on the history of medicine.

My doctor Juan Alcantar is the most pleasant, caring, most truthful doctor I’ve met. From day one when I was admitted to UCLA West Hills, Dr. Alcantar has been very compassionate and honest he’s straight forward but with kindness. I couldn’t ask for a better doctor to help me through my journey. I am so thankful and grateful.
