About

Dr. Jonathan Chan is a board-certified Pulmonary & Critical Care physician seeing patients at the UCLA Thousand Oaks clinic as well as Los Robles, UCLA West Valley, and UCLA Santa Monica hospitals. He specializes in a broad-range of respiratory conditions, including unexplained symptoms (e.g. cough, shortness of breath), airway diseases (e.g. asthma, COPD), and other lung diseases (e.g. nodules, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung diseases, pleural effusion).  

Dr. Chan has a specialized interest and expertise in asthma, from the control of mild but bothersome symptoms up to the management of severe asthma with persistent symptoms and recurrent exacerbations. He is a part of the new UCLA Health Adult Asthma Program featuring specialized diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational services to optimize asthma care. 

Dr. Chan attained his M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care at West Virginia University, where he also served as chief fellow. He attended Penn State University for his undergraduate degree and Georgetown University for his Master's. 

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Chan enjoys skiing, badminton, Scrabble, and photography in his free time.

Dr. Chan is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society.
