About

Dr. Jennifer Baker is a breast surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery at UCLA. She has a very busy clinical practice exclusively treating patients with breast cancer and/or at high risk for breast cancer. Dr Baker believes in intentional and personalized care for each patient; offering the most advanced surgical techniques tailored to an individual patient’s disease, preferences, and goals.  She has extensive experience in nipple sparing mastectomy including with resensation techniques, oncoplastic lumpectomy, aesthetic flat closures, and targeted axillary surgery.  She is deeply invested in ensuring superior patient oncologic and aesthetic outcomes and advancing breast cancer care.

Dr. Baker has been recognized for clinical excellence earning Super Doctors Rising Stars 2019-2024, LAs Top Docs 2020-2023, Fabletics Southern California Breast Cancer Heros 2024. In addition to her clinical work, she publishes regularly in many high impact surgical journals, serves on committees for the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Society of Surgical Oncology. She is also a member and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is dedicated to teaching the next generation of surgeons and serves as the Associate Program Director for the breast surgical oncology fellowship at UCLA.

Dr. Baker is from West Des Moines, Iowa.  She graduated with top honors, Alpha Omega Alpha from University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, completed a general surgery residency at University of California, San Diego and a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York
