Janet M. Ma, MD

Dr. Janet Ma is a Medicine-Pediatrics physician who practices in Santa Monica. She has a passion for providing preventive and primary care to all patients, from newborns to adults, as well as providing whole person care.  She also helps direct the transition clinic, which helps complex youth and adolescent patients with chronic medical conditions transition into adult care. She is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.

Dr. Ma received her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She then completed her internal medicine-pediatrics residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

In addition to her other clinical interests, Dr. Ma has a strong interest in treating patients from underserved communities, and has volunteered at multiple free clinics. She also enjoys global health/medical missions, and has participated in medical mission trips to El Salvador, Malawi, China, Italy, Guatemala and Mexico.

Dr. Ma grew up in Southern California. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, swimming, and spending time with her family. She is fluent in Cantonese, and speaks medical Spanish as well as basic Mandarin.
