About
Dr. Erin Chamberlain is a hematologist and medical oncologist who practices in San Luis Obispo. She treats patients with all types of cancer and hematologic conditions and is board certified in both hematology and medical oncology.
Dr. Chamberlain received her medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University, where she also completed her internal medicine residency and was recognized with a Humanitarian Award for her compassionate care of patients. She subsequently completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Scripps Cancer Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College, where she played Division III soccer and graduated cum laude in Molecular Biology.
Dr. Chamberlain actively participates as a sub-investigator on many clinical trials. She believes in the power of research in discovering new cures, improving patient survival, and turning experimental ideas into tomorrow's next promising anti-cancer treatment.
Dr. Chamberlain is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. She loves to surf, bike, and read with a steaming mug of coffee in hand.

Dr. Chamberlain was convinced that my hip/shoulder pain and stiffness is a side effect of the infusion treatments I have been receiving and not from tick bites from late May early June. She did recommend over the counter medication and if necessary additional medical care.

Dr. Chamberlain and her staff were punctual, friendly and efficient. She was thoroughly familiar with the details of my recent medical conditions (2 ER visits, CT scans, echo-cardiogram, bloodwork, etc.) and gave exceptionally clear explanations of the main findings and their implications. She did not rush, and answered all questions my wife and I had in as much detail as we wanted and in language that we could understand. It was one of the best MD interactions I can remember.
