Eric E. Johnson, MD

Eric E. Johnson, MD, is an experienced orthopaedic trauma specialist who leads his own practice in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He completed an internship and residency in surgery there in the following years. He then moved to California to perform an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Johnson then took his talents and ambitions overseas, first to Hanover, Germany, and then to Paris, France. In Hannover, Dr. Johnson completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at Hannover Medical School. In Paris, he completed a fellowship in pelvic and acetabular fracture surgery at the Centre Medico-Chirurgical de la Porte de Choisy and the University of Paris.

Dr. Johnson is certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a faculty member at AO/ASIF, the past president of AO North America, a past member of the Board of Directors of the AO Foundation, an honorary member of the AO Foundation, and a member of the German and Argentine Trauma Societies. Additionally, Dr. Johnson has been named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

In addition to Dr. Johnson's professional affiliations, he has also authored 47 published abstracts, 51 peer-reviewed publications, and 11 book chapters. By the end of 2019, Dr. Johnson will have given over 230 international presentations and 228 national presentations at annual orthopaedic gatherings. He has also served as the chairman for over 45 national and international orthopaedic fracture courses in his esteemed career.

Through his work with the AO Foundation and other international trauma societies, Dr. Johnson continues to grow his knowledge of orthopaedic surgery and remains on the cutting edge of his field.
