About
Dr. Emily Newsom is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon. She is board certified in dermatology, and specializes in skin cancer, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. Her research is primarily in the fields of skin cancer and patient education.
Dr. Newsom received her medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She then completed her dermatology residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, and her fellowship in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology (Mohs surgery) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Newsom loves living in Southern California. When she's not working, she enjoys pilates, yoga, and traveling.

They were able to fit me in at the last minute for Dr Newsom to look at the small scar from my Moh’s surgery that was performed 2 weeks ago. I needed some reassurance that it looked like it was supposed to after 2 weeks. I really appreciated being seen on the same day as I called. She was great and reassured me that it would continue to remodel and she gave me directions on how to care for it.

I had miner surgery on my ears where the holes for ear rings were torn .The surgery worked for one ear but not the other. T hole in the one ear was still to big so she has to recur one ear. The Doctor will now close the hole wait 2 to 3 months and re pierce the ear. it makes Sense to get the best results. I am very happy with her decision.

Exce excellent service by both physicians and staff. They were all very friendly and very gentle with the procedure. Although mos surgery is not a pleasant experience. The three hours went by very quickly.

All was good. Dr explained everything and had a very comforting manner, and seemed very competent. My only suggestion would be when she leaves to say goodbye , the nurse will go over blah blah. She just walked out w/o saying anything and never returned.

I was sorta nervous & from the moment I walked in I felt comfortable. The young guy who checked me in was the nicest! And Dr Emily is the BEST! She was informative, made me completely relaxed & the entire experience was pain free. Always asking me how I was doing. Also the other gals assisting were so nice. Very much helpful & kind spirited.
