Dr. David Kim is a Southern California native, who graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He earned his medical degree at USC Keck School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Kim continued on to complete his Hematology/Oncology fellowship training at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Kim is a board certified hematologist and medical oncologist who practiced his specialty for 6 years at the award-winning Leavey Cancer Center in Northridge prior to joining UCLA Health in Porter Ranch.

The visit was to assess my health and determine whether I would be able to have the Keytruda infusion the following day. We discussed my health status, which was much improved, he examined me, we discussed whether I would continue Keytruda and I told him I wanted to continue. He ordered blood tests that would factor into his decision to allow me to have Keytruda the following day. I really appreciated having to voice my own eagerness to put fighting cancer as my first priority. Dr. Kim is the greatest and I feel lucky that he���s my oncologist.

Dr. Kim solved a problem that had been worrying me. The MRI of my breasts was scheduled for the day after my last Chemo infusion and I didn’t know what the timing should be. Dr Kim came by my infusion booth as I was in pre-chemo infusions. We discussed the reduction of Benadryl from 50 ml to 25 ml due to my extreme reaction to the higher dosage. He expressed that the installation of the new port should occur ASAP (the 1st port didn’t heal and was removed). He’s so very cordial and easy to talk to.

Dr. Kim visited me before I began chemo. He looked at the progress of healing after my port removal, then we discussed the timing of a new port placement. I feel well cared for by Dr. Kim.

I was late because I mixed up the time if my two appointments supposed to start at 2:00 pm. I arrived at 2:30 and was accepted to be seen by Dr. David Kim regardless. It was very good courteous experience. Very much appreciated!

Dr. Kim is extremely thorough. I was amazed and very very appreciative . He cares. His staff is very nice and patient. The blood test was pain free. She was great with the needle. I would love to have everything done there if it were possible. Thank you

Dr. Kim made time to see me due to an urgent issue. He was concerned and did everything to get me the help I needed to stop an infection. When I got to West Hills UCLA hospital, I learned that Dr. Kim had spoken to the surgeon that would remove my port and clean the wound. I was so grateful that he’d done that because everyone there had a different idea about what should be done. I’m glad that the surgeon was following what Dr. Kim had advised.

Dr. Kim remembered me from when he treated my wife for breast cancer 7 years ago. He’s so pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. I felt at ease with my first chemo treatment because of our talk beforehand. He explained his plan for treatment and answered all my questions. I’m so glad that he’s my doctor.
