About
Dr. Safatian is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and joined the division of Pediatric Pulmonology at UCLA in 2021. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at the University of Southern California and her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her pediatric residency at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, and her fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles. She was a recipient of the Clinical Fellowship Award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation during her fellowship.
Dr. Safatian is the Associate Director of the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center. Her clinical interests include caring for patients with complex chronic lung disease, including cystic fibrosis, CFTR-related metabolic syndrome/cystic fibrosis, positive inconclusive diagnosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia/chronic lung disease of prematurity, neuromuscular weakness, home mechanical ventilation, and asthma.
