Christine K. Thang, MD

Dr. Christine Thang is a board-certified pediatrician and Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor in the UCLA Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics. She cares for patients through the UCLA Children’s Health Center in Westwood and serves on the medical team for the UCLA Pediatric Craniofacial Specialty Care Program.

Dr. Thang is Associate Program Director for the UCLA Pediatric Residency Training Program, where she leads the Continuity Clinic Curriculum, Advocacy Training, and Mental Health Rotation. She also serves as Co-Site Director for the Pediatrics Clerkship at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. She is a graduate of the Academic Pediatrics Association’s Educational Scholars Program.

A proud Bruin alumna, Dr. Thang earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA in Physiological Sciences with a minor in Asian American Studies, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her medical degree at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine with AOA honors, followed by pediatric residency training at UCLA, where she received the Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Residents Award.

After residency, she served as Chief Resident while completing the DGSOM Medical Education Fellowship. Her professional interests include community pediatrics, advocacy, trauma-informed care, and medical education. She is actively involved with the American Academy of Pediatrics at local and national levels and is committed to improving care for all children while teaching future physicians.

Dr. Thang grew up in Los Angeles and is a spirited Bruin through and through.
