Chris Gornes, MD

Dr. Chris Gornes is a board-certified family medicine physician who sees patients of all ages. Her clinical interests include women’s health, pediatric neurodevelopment, health equity and global health.

Dr. Gornes grew up in the South Bay, where her father is also a primary care physician. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, and then went on to earn her culinary and pastry degree from Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. After working as a pastry cook in several establishments in the Los Angeles area, she decided to go back to school to pursue her medical training.

Dr. Gornes received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her Family Medicine residency training with a concentration in Global Health at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where she was the Academic Chief Resident. She has participated in medical mission trips to Arequipa, Peru and Falmouth, Jamaica.

Dr. Gornes is fluent in French and conversational in Korean. When she’s not working, she enjoys horseback riding, spending time with her family and her two dogs, baking, reading, and traveling.
