About
Dr. Charis Bush is a board-certified Family Medicine physician providing primary care in Montecito. She is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, continuous care for patients of all ages, with a special emphasis on women’s health and preventive medicine.
Dr. Bush earned her medical degree from A.T. Still University, where she graduated at the top of her class, was awarded the Mutual Insurance Company of Arizona Award for being ranked among the top three students academically, and was inducted into Sigma Sigma Phi, the national medical honor society recognizing academic excellence and leadership. She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Mercy Medical Center, where she was honored as Intern of the Year and later served as Chief Resident. In addition, she received the Spirit of the Medical Safe Haven Award for her work caring for patients who have experienced human trafficking, reflecting her dedication to compassionate, trauma-informed care.
She completed her undergraduate studies in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. Originally from Southern Oregon, Dr. Bush is delighted to return to Santa Barbara, where her family now resides.
Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, golfing, cooking, and gardening.

Dr Bush addressed my questions about other concerns & then told me she wanted to discuss my biopsy results with me. She said my dx was papillary thyroid cancer. I was shocked to the point that I couldn’t think of any questions to ask, though she did ask if I had any. She did reassure me and say that it’s highly treatable.

Dr. Bush was phenomenal! Not only did she calm my anxiety about the IUD by sitting down for a consultation but she also made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the procedure too. It was clear that Dr.Bush was first and foremost prioritizing my comfort and I am so grateful for her! She also brought an IUD to show both my partner and I which further reinforced her passion for her work. Thank you so much Dr. Bush!
