Dr Opene is alway very thorough and follows up on the fine details. I had some questions about skin lesions and how to stop and prevent the painful nail fungus from spreading to my toes. She had some great suggestions and found another pharmacy for me to use when a CVS prescription was too expensive.

Doctor was quick, informative and to the point but maybe the “routine” aspect of the visit felt less personalized. Entered the room without knocking to launch straight into introduction and left room at the end without indicating the nurse assistant was to take over the wrap-up. Felt so abrupt for what felt like less than five minutes of face time.

Best dermatologist I have had the experience of seeing in eleven years! She listened to my complaints and then actually examined each skin lesion. She then explained each possible diagnosis and treatment option. She photographed lesions that require monitoring over time; and asked me if I understood. Then she discussed options regarding a longstanding lesion and when performing the treatment plan- best use of numbing agent ever. I felt nothing within 45 seconds!

Today's appointment was the first time seeing Dr Opene. Actually, it was replacing a follow-up appointment I had in August with a different doctor who went on sabbatical leave. Dr Opene is wonderful. She listened intently, answered all of my questions, diagnosed my condition rapidly, and prescribed a topical ointment which has been quite effective. The office staff was very efficient and the environment attractive, clean, and very inviting. Since joining the UCLA system and seeing only UCLA doctors, my health has improved and my attitude about preventative care even more so.
