About

Dr. Brian W. Yang is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions, with particular expertise in minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques. He provides comprehensive care for a broad range of conditions, including fractures and soft tissue injuries, hand and wrist arthritis, trigger finger, tendon and nerve disorders, carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, ganglion cysts, and other upper extremity conditions.

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dr. Yang graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University and earned his medical degree with honors from Harvard Medical School. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, the nation’s top-ranked orthopedic surgery institution. He then completed a Hand & Upper Limb Surgery fellowship at Stanford University, where he received combined orthopedic and plastic surgery training with a focus on complex soft tissue reconstruction and minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures. He further advanced his training through additional education in hand and microsurgery techniques at the National University Hospital in Singapore.

Dr. Yang has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international conferences, and contributed to multiple book chapters in hand and upper extremity surgery. He is committed to patient-centered care, creating individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy most. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new cuisines, and cheering for Michigan football.
