About
Dr. McCall graduated from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in 2002. He completed specialty residency training in Otolaryngology -- Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA in 2008. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Otology and Neurotology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard in 2010. He is an Associate Professor of Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA. Prior to joining UCLA, Dr. McCall served as Associate Professor of Otolaryngology of Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh where he directed the Neurotology Fellowship.
Dr. McCall’s clinical practice focuses on the care of patients with otologic and neurotologic disorders. He has expertise in the surgical management of skull base disorders such as acoustic neuroma, stapes surgery for otosclerosis, minimally invasive surgical techniques for ear disorders (endoscopic ear surgery), and cochlear implantation, among others.
His research interests include the development of novel techniques for surgical education, such as utilization of 3D printed models for temporal bone education. At UCLA he serves as director of the Temporal Bone Education Laboratory. In this capacity, the next generation of Head and Neck Surgeons learn the most advanced surgical techniques under his direction. He also performs outcomes research and surgical ergonomics research to ensure patients and providers lead long and productive lives.
