Amanda B. Butler, MSW, LCSW

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, and currently serve as the pediatric genetics social worker at UCLA Health, with a focus on metabolic conditions. I provide compassionate, individualized support to children and families navigating complex or rare genetic diagnoses.

My background includes broad experience in both medical and psychiatric care settings. Prior to my current role, I supported patients and families across a range of intensive care units including medical, surgical, neonatal, cardiovascular, and burn ICUs, as well as inpatient and outpatient medical units. I’ve also worked with individuals facing mental health challenges and have supported patients living with severe and persistent mental illness.

I am passionate about helping families feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their care journey. I work closely with the genetics team to ensure patients and caregivers have access to the tools, resources, and guidance they need. I truly value the opportunity to build relationships with the families I serve and to support them through each step of their experience.
