About
Dr. Ali Hussain is a board-certified family physician providing comprehensive primary care to patients in San Luis Obispo. He takes a patient-centered approach to medicine, blending preventive care and evidence-based treatment with a genuine commitment to building long-term relationships with his patients and their families. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and treating a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions.
A California native, Dr. Hussain completed his undergraduate studies at California State University, Fresno, before earning his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at Trinity Health Livingston Hospital in Michigan, gaining broad experience in both outpatient and inpatient care across all stages of life, from pediatrics to adult medicine and geriatrics. He's glad to be back practicing on the Central Coast, close to where he grew up.
Outside the office, Dr. Hussain is happiest spending time with his wife and kids. Whether it's hiking, tackling a home improvement project, tinkering with cars, or exploring the Central Coast, he likes staying busy. He and his family also love to travel and are always on the hunt for a new restaurant or dish to try.
