Alexandra H. Smick, MD

Alexandra Smick, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She provides care for patients at UCLA Health and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Smick earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at TriHealth in Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology at UCLA.

Dr. Smick specializes in the treatment of ovarian, cervical, uterine/endometrial, vulvar, and vaginal cancers. She is trained in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, complex pelvic surgery, and the administration of systemic therapies including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. Her clinical approach emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care and close collaboration with specialists across multiple disciplines to provide individualized treatment plans.

Her clinical and academic interests include gynecologic cancer outcomes, patient education, healthcare communication, health equity, and the application of innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve cancer care delivery. Dr. Smick is actively involved in the education of medical students, residents, and gynecologic oncology fellows.
