
Melissa Ghafarian, DMP, MS, DABR
Assistant Professor, Medical Physicist
Dr. Melissa Ghafarian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCLA, and also serves as the Director of the Medical Dosimetry Clinical Training Program. Dr. Ghafarian received her DMP in Therapeutic Medical Physics from Vanderbilt University in 2020. In 2023, she joined UCLA as a faculty member, and has since served on the MR-guided radiotherapy and HDR Brachytherapy teams. She also holds a faculty appointment in the CAMPEP-accredited Physics and Biology in Medicine (PBM) Graduate Program at UCLA. Dr. Ghafarian is certified in therapeutic medical physics by the American Board of Radiology. She has clinical and research interests in the field of CT- and MR-guided adaptive radiotherapy and external beam radiotherapy planning.
