Yasin Abdulkadir, PhD

Yasin Abdulkadir, PhD earned his bachelor’s degree in Biophysics from UCLA. After completing his undergraduate studies, he worked as a Clinical Physics Assistant in the UCLA Department of Radiation Oncology, where he gained experience in clinical workflows including patient-specific quality assurance, linear accelerator quality assurance, and brachytherapy procedures. He subsequently earned his PhD in Physics and Biology in Medicine at UCLA under the mentorship of Dr. James Lamb.

During his doctoral studies, Dr. Abdulkadir focused on the development and clinical implementation of artificial intelligence and software tools for radiation oncology. His research included deep learning–based auto-contouring and three-dimensional dose prediction, as well as the development of software infrastructure for integrating, organizing, and analyzing large-scale radiotherapy datasets.

Dr. Abdulkadir is particularly interested in translating advances in artificial intelligence, data science, and medical imaging into practical tools that improve clinical workflows, treatment quality, and patient care.
