Scientific Interests
Dr. Mitchell specializes in gastrointestinal malignancies as both my clinical and research interests. She has developed an investigator-initiated trial that looks at repurposing SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) in improving tumor immunogenicity, specifically in colon cancer. Tumor immunology as well as targeted therapies are research interests of hers and there is much room for improvement in the way gastrointestinal malignancies are treated.
