Rebecca Pittenger, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Responsibilities
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at UCLA Health specializing in hematology/oncology, with over 15 years of experience in both medical and community mental health settings. My work focuses on supporting patients and families throughout the full cancer care continuum.
I work closely with interdisciplinary teams and collaborate with the cellular therapy/stem cell transplant program to complete assessments for patients and their families, helping ensure they are supported both medically and psychosocially throughout treatment.
Prior to UCLA, I served in a clinical leadership role in community mental health, where I supervised clinicians, provided trauma-informed therapy to children and families, and supported program development and staff training.
I strive to create a space where patients and families feel supported, understood, and empowered as they navigate some of the most challenging moments in their lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through weightlifting and spending time outdoors (sometimes in theme parks). I love exploring new restaurants and coffee shops around Los Angeles. I also appreciate quiet moments to recharge, whether that’s getting lost in a good book or finding small ways to unwind and reset after a busy week.
