Responsibilities

Dr. Cohn serves as a staff psychiatrist at the Simms/Mann Center for Integrative Oncology. With specialized training in the connection between mental and physical health, he collaborates with patients, families, mental health professionals, and medical teams to identify and treat psychiatric concerns related to cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Cohn believes that even in the midst of a prolonged health crisis, there must always be room in life—and in psychiatry appointments—for joy.

Training and Professional Experience

Dr. Cohn earned his undergraduate degree in History and Literature from Harvard University and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at the UCLA Semel Neuropsychiatric Institute, followed by a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship with subspecialty training in Psycho-Oncology at both the Simms/Mann Center and Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center.

Selected Professional Publications

Dr. Cohn has published in Academic Psychiatry and Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica, and co-authored a textbook chapter in the Atlas of Psychiatry focusing on viewing patients holistically—as more than just their diagnoses.

Personal Interests

Dr. Cohn is an avid fan of trivia, crossword puzzles, and literature. When not curled up with a book and his dog, he enjoys discovering new restaurants, exploring lesser-known historical sites, and pursuing balance (and coordination) in yoga class
