Dechen Lin, PhD

Dr. Dechen Lin has a broad background in cancer genetics and biology, with specific training and expertise in functional genomic study and transcriptional regulation. The major focus of his work is identifying key genomic abnormalities in human malignancies and translating these findings into novel clinical managements. To facilitate this research, he has established genomic approaches such as deep sequencing and high-density SNP-array profiling. He has also developed functional genomic approaches, especially high-throughput siRNA library screen to identify actionable cancer defects. With these tools and biological studies, Lin has uncovered important genomic aberrations which promote malignant phenotypes, including gene amplifications, somatic mutations and genomic deletions.
