Arie Pollock Headshot

Arie Pollock, MS, PsyD Candidate

Psychology Doctoral Practicum Trainee
Supervisor: Dr. Jenny B. Tran, Clinical Psychologist, PSY #34837

Responsibilities

As a psychology doctoral intern, my responsibilities are to provide assessment, emotional, and psychosocial care for patients and their families affected by a cancer journey. I work with a multidisciplinary team and use an integration of evidence-based interventions and a human-centered approach to best support patients and their loved ones. I provide direct patient care through individual therapy, crisis intervention, and comprehensive psychological assessments to help individuals navigate the complex emotional, practical, and existential challenges of serious illness.

Training and Professional Experience

Arie Pollock is a fourth-year doctoral candidate at the University of La Verne’s College of Health and Community Well-Being. During my doctoral training, I have gained experience across diverse clinical healthcare settings. At the Whole Child Neurodevelopment Group, I delivered comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to diagnose and provide supportive recommendations for a range of developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional conditions in children, adolescents, and young adults. At the Sepulveda VA, I administered structured clinical trauma interviews for the connection to medical and mental health services among Veterans. At Tarzana Treatment Centers, I provided individual and group psychotherapy in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, as well as delivered crisis support on the detoxification hospitalization unit. Before returning to school for her doctorate, she worked at the intersection of accessibility, disability, and storytelling within the technology sector for several years, as well as volunteered as a Crisis Counselor for the 988 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline through Didi Hirsch.

Personal Interests

In my free time, I volunteer as a Crisis Counselor with Didi Hirsch and the 988 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, where I’m also a member of their Next Gen Advisory Board. I also enjoy spending time outside, reading, listening to music and podcasts, practicing yoga, hiking, trying new recipes, and spending time with loved ones.
